Hospital Medicine is a medical specialty dedicated to the delivery of comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients.
Hospitalist physicians assume the role of primary care physicians specifically for hospitalized patients. Hospitalists enhance the performance of healthcare systems by delivering prompt and complete attention to all patient care needs including diagnosis, treatment and engagement of subspecialty care as clinically indicated.
Our hospitalist physicians are board certified internal medicine physicians who manage and coordinate patient care throughout the course of hospitalization. They also assist with transitioning the care of their patients from the hospital to the community, which may include oversight of the patient’s care in post-acute care facilities such as long term care, rehabilitation hospitals or skilled nursing facilities.
Our hospitalist physicians eventually transition the care of their patients from inpatient to outpatient care and primary care physicians.
